SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF SAN BERNARDINO is a service organization for executive and business women who serve the community -- through financial assistance and volunteerism -- all for the purposes of advancing the status of women locally, nationally, and internationally.  The name Soroptimist means "best for women" and that's what the organization strives to achieve.  Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best.

Established in March 1947, SI of San Bernardino joined over 90,000 professional women in 119 different countries all with the mission to improve the lives of women and girls.  Soroptimists provide service in six main categories:  Economic and Social Development; Health; Education; Environment; Human Rights / Status of Women; and International Goodwill and Understanding.

Our vision is to improve the lives of women and girls; help women achieve economic and political equality; serve as a global voice for women; provide outstanding leadership development opportunities for women; enhance world peace and understanding.

SOROPTIMISTS STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Worldwide, millions of women and girls live in sexual slavery.  Although this topic is gaining awareness, people still often assume it exists far from home.  But the truth is: sexual slavery occurs in every country around the world.  In the US, estimates show that nearly 17,000 victims are transported across national borders.  Join Soroptimist International of the Americas and SI of San Bernardino in stopping this $32 billion industry that enslaves women and girls.
